Enosburg Falls Hydroelectric Facility – Phase 2 Upgrades

This was Phase 2 of a project previously completed in 2017 at the Hydroelectric Facility. The existing turbine inside the powerhouse was removed along with the generator, the generator was hauled to Connecticut for refurbishment and upgrades and the turbine was brought to Canada for upgrades.
Electrical upgrades were completed to accommodate the newly refurbished turbine and the new control system that would operate it. About a year after it left the site the turbine and generator came back fully refurbished and ready to install.
Fairbanks Mills installed the equipment back into place with the help of Norcan Hydraulic and Leppert-Nutmeg. A new PLC control system was installed and the turbine was back up and running in the fall of 2018.
